Chemistry (Minor)

The minor in Chemistry is designed for non-Chemistry majors to demonstrate additional specialization in the field of chemistry as part of an undergraduate degree.

Courses and Curriculum

Chemistry Minor Requirements

  • 23+ credits required for minor completion
  • Students should meet with their academic advisor each semester and use to monitor their individual progress toward completion of the minor.

Minor Requirements

Upon completion of the minor students will be able to:
  1. Demonstrate proficiency in the laboratory practice in chemistry.
  2. Demonstrate knowledge of core concepts in chemistry (symbiosis of structure to molecular activity)
  3. Demonstrate the ability to apply critical, analytical, and integrative thinking to chemical problems
  4. Demonstrate skill using appropriate scientific methods and instruments
  5. Clearly communicate scientific ideas in both written and oral form
