Natural history institutions (e.g. Nature Centers, Parks, Zoos, Museums, Aquaria) employ a diverse workforce. They need specialists in information technology, accounting, law enforcement, communication, and human resources. However, all these specialists need to know fundamental natural history in order to effectively interact with staff and materials to contribute to the mission of the organization. Graduates with skills in technology, business, and communications, who know and understand natural history, are the most common request we receive from these potential employers. This minor is meant to fill this need and can be added to any complementing major degree program.
